Iveco: Italian-Made Industrial Vehicles
The production of Iveco trucks—short for Industrial Vehicles Corporation—began relatively recently, on January 1st, 1975, in Turin. The company was formed from the merger of several brands to streamline industrial vehicle manufacturing. Specifically, Fiat Veicoli Industriali, OM, Lancia Veicoli Speciali, Unic, and Magirus-Deutz all merged to form Iveco. The company’s first fully designed vehicle was the TurboStar, launched in 1984. It quickly became widespread, and during the 1990s, new models were introduced, including the EuroCargo, EuroTech, EuroTrakker, and EuroStar—each widely acclaimed.
Today, Iveco’s truck production covers a wide range of vehicles—from the lightweight Iveco Eurocargo to the medium-duty Iveco Stralis, and up to the heavy-duty Iveco Trakker. Like their predecessors, these vehicles have received positive feedback from both critics and customers, reinforcing the strength of Italian manufacturing.
